Ah, interesting perspective. I also think that these women are invisible at home, and have a lot of rage simmering below the surface. Maybe it's at their tween and teen kids. Maybe at their husbands who ignore them. Either way, they want someone to listen to them and complaining to the manager and throwing a temper tantrum in public is one way to guarantee that.
